Welcome to the AOH National Website!
The Ancient Order of Hibernians is a Catholic, Irish American Fraternal Organization founded in New York City 4 May,1836. The Order can trace its roots back to a parent organization, of the same name, which has existed in Ireland for over 300 years. However, while the organizations share a common thread, the North American A.O.H. is a separate and much larger organization. > Learn more

Digest Now Online
After months of preparation, the Hibernian Digest has entered the digital age. The new Digital Digest will be linked through our national website www.aoh.com and will include an ever expanding archive of articles from past print editions. In addition to the print articles, the site has been designed to offer expanded space for more content not currently able to make it into the printed edition mailed to all members. The Digital Digest will also include a large expansion of pictures associated with articles submitted by members. Keith Carney, editor of the Digest commented, We have numerous pictures submitted by members that only make it to the cutting room floor because of limited space. But pictures tell great stories of the life and times of our Order and it the Digital edition now provides us with the perfect mechanism to bring them to the membership through the Internet.
The digital Digest will include electronic advertising controlled by the National Board and it is hoped that it will be able to begin generating revenue in the next few months once the site gains some popularity. The site will also include a comprehensive archive of previously printed Digests in the popular Adobe Acrobat .pdf format.

Irish National Treasure Found
Jackie Clarke was a private collector who, during his lifetime, amassed an astounding collection of more than 100,000 unique publications, manuscripts, and proclamations spanning 400 years of Irish history. Due to the generosity of his widow, Mrs Ann Clarke this priceless collection of documents – some which were believed lost – has been donated to the Mayo County Council to become a source of data for the Irish nation and the world. The collection is now being catalogued by the Collection Curator, Sinead McCoole who will deliver an illustrated lecture on this treasure on March 12 at the Irish American Historical Society, 991 Fifth Avenue, New York at 6 PM. Ms McCoole will discuss the ‘find’ and the future of the Irish National Treasure that is the Jackie Clarke Collection. For more information call the IAHS at (212) 288-2263 or log on to www.clarkecollection.ie.

Marching Since 1955, Seamus Boyle Gets to Wear the Top Hat in The 2010 Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade
Parade Seamus Boyle arrived in Philadelphia from County Armagh in 1954. In 1955, with his father Terence, he marched in his first Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day parade. Boyle has marched in the Philly parade almost every year ever since.
This year is no exception. But this year's parade is going to be extra-special for the burly, low-key Boyle, a resident of the Academy Gardens neighborhood in the Northeast. He'll be marching at the head of the parade as grand marshal. > More

2009 Ireland Flood Relief Appeal
Dear Brother Hibernians
Following one of the wettest summers on record in Ireland and rainfalls in November and December 2009 that have been nothing short of catastrophic, conditions caused by flooding have reached a level of devastation that actually parallels that encountered by New Orleans and the Gulf Coast following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005.
