Southwest Report – February 2020

February 23, 2020 By National Board

from Mike Joyce, Southwest Liaison …

Hibernians in the Southwest are busy prepping for the Green Season.

An update from Phoenix, Albuquerque, Austin, and Dallas/Fort Worth:

Rob Healy – Dallas/Ft.Worth Texas

My home division in Austin, Texas the Brothers of Msg. McCabe Dv#1 are gearing up for their 4th Annual Irish Stew Cookoff at B.D. Riley’s Pub. This event has raised thousands for local charities CARITAS and the St. Gabriel Project over the past few years.

In Dallas/Fort Worth the Brothers of Michael Collins Dv#1 are in talks to participate in the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade as well as helping to organize a St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Plaza Pub in Arlington, Texas – owned by Brother Ed Redmund – on March 15, 2020.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico the Brothers of Bernalillo County Dv#1 are set to help celebrate the 68th Annual Brother Mathias Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner on March 17, 2020 with proceeds benefiting the Good Shepard Center.

Finally, the Brothers of Phoenix, Arizona are rallying the community for a special screening of “A Proper Pint” a documentary by their very own Keven Siegert on March 9.
