2025 Greater Hartford Irish Road Bowling Tournament

July 14, 2025 By Chris Cooke

The Ancient Order of Hibernians Hartford Division 2 held the 2025 Greater Hartford Irish Road Bowling Tournament on Saturday, July 12. This year’s tournament was held in a new venue this year – A.W. Stanley Park in New Britain.

The event benefited the Recreation Assistance Program for the City of New Britain, which assists families in sending their children to camps and other programs, and AOH Hartford’s fight against hunger.

This was the fifth consecutive year that AOH Hartford sponsored the tournament and the championship trophy is named in honor of departed Brother Jamie Forzono, who originally brought the game to the Hartford area.

AOH Hartford treasurer Kevin Morton, who served as chief referee for the tournament, presents the championship trophy to “Proper Four” – who won the tournament for the second year in a row.
AOH Hartford Brother Tom Coleman presents the second place trophy to Tom Shea and his team. Shea is a professor emeritus at the University of Connecticut in Irish Studies.
The trophies for the event came with a painted ball on the top.
Thirty teams from Connecticut and Massachusetts took part in the event.
