A member of Tomas Cardinal O’Fiaich Division 14, Watertown, Massachusetts since 1983. He served as Division President from 2000 – 2002 and currently serves as Treasurer. He has been a member of the Massachusetts State Board for over 20 years serving as State President from 2007 – 2011 and currently serves on the Finance Committee and Chair of the John Boyle O’Reilly Exercises.

He has served on many National Committees, National Convention Committee Boston 2006, Co- Chair National President’s Dinner 2007, National Convention Credentials & Elections since 2008, Co- Chair US Committee for the 100 th Anniversary of the AOH Celtic Cross at Grosse Ile, Quebec, Canada 2009, Boston Coordinator Omagh Thunder Youth Basketball tours 2010 & 2014, National Constitution Review 2013. He also has been a frequent participant of the FFAI tours to Ireland.
He is a graduate of Westfield State University earning a BS Degree in Criminal Justice and was also a member of the basketball team. He successfully attended Joe Brinkman’s Professional Baseball Umpire School and has umpired at all levels of baseball.
Thompson has been employed by the United States Postal Service for over 30 years and is a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Boston Branch 34.

He is the fourth generation of his family to be a member of our noble Order. He attends St. Patrick’s Parish in Watertown, Massachusetts.

He was elected a National Director in July 2020
