JFK Memorial Medal awarded to Major General Patrick Brady.
The Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, awarded their highest honor, the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial Medal, to Major General Patrick Brady. While in Vietnam General Brady was awarded the Medal of Honor for a series of rescues, which began at sunrise and ended after dark. Repeatedly competent advisors warned him that the missions were impossible due to weather, the enemy situation, and mines. On three different missions and six tasks, Major Brady extracted patients from areas where other aircraft failed. On two different occasions his aircraft was hit … [Read more...] about JFK Memorial Medal awarded to Major General Patrick Brady.
Speech by Brian O'Dwyer on receiving the Sean McBride Award – Oct. 3, 2015
President Moore, President Hogan, Amb. Jones, brother and sister Hibernians, friends, I am honored beyond belief to have been chosen for this award for two reasons. One it bears the name of the distinguished Nobel Peace Prize winner and fighter for Irish freedom Sean McBride. There is literally no one in Irish history that has done as much for Ireland and the world as Sean McBride and to receive an award in his name is truly a great honor. Second this award is given to me by my brother and sister Hibernians. I have been blessed by my membership in the Hibernians since my early years and … [Read more...] about Speech by Brian O'Dwyer on receiving the Sean McBride Award – Oct. 3, 2015
A Chaplain’s Farewell
Sisters and Brothers, Hibernians one and all, God Bless You and Keep You! As I have been preparing for my new assignment in Austria, I had the privilege of representing our National Board alongside Brother Daniel O’Connell at the Ohio State Convention. I wish to report to all of you that the Ohio LAOH and AOH are continuing the wonderful Celtic tradition of Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity. The convention was a great opportunity for fellowship and faith. The Hibernians of Ohio recommitted themselves to the order and a grand time was had by all. As I am concluding my service to all of … [Read more...] about A Chaplain’s Farewell

Brothers and Sisters in Christ …
Brothers and Sisters in Christ. May the Lord Bless You and Keep You. I greet you in the name of our Beloved Patron Saint, Patrick of Ireland. Our Church provides so many wonderful opportunities for us, her children, to grow in grace. One of the most wonderful is the fact that our Church Year, what we call the Liturgical Year, has seasons. The seasons mark not only the passage of time, as our secular seasons of Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall do, but they reflect the Paschal Mystery. We have been celebrating for the past 5 weeks, the Easter season. The week that fell between Palm Sunday and … [Read more...] about Brothers and Sisters in Christ …
Happy Easter from the AOH National Board
Happy Easter from the AOH National Board. Good Friday and Holy Saturday are days that require some time in the Classroom of Silence. Suddenly all becomes affirmed and confirmed. No more doubts for them OR US!! Happy Easter, Brendan Moore, National President Blessed Easter This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Christ is risen from the dead, Alleluia! I am preparing to celebrate Mass at noon her at Franciscan University for the intention of the many members of my family, living and deceased, who share the name of Patrick. Blessings to all Hibernians, near and far,
Blessings to all Hibernians, near and far. Mea Culpa, I am a little late with my corner this month. The semester here at Franciscan University of Steubenville has been going full steam and I have been running to try and catch up. It is such a blessing to be assigned here with my Franciscan brothers to witness our students on Fire for their Catholic faith. Jesus prayed in Luke’s Gospel,“I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing!” (Luke 12:49) And here on our campus, that fire is being kindled, praise God. Fire is tied to the topic I wish to present to you … [Read more...] about Blessings to all Hibernians, near and far,

In addressing the continued miscarriage of justice by the Diplock Courts of the British government, the National FFAI Co-Chairmen of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in America are requesting the help and support of all of our Brothers, Sisters and supporters of Freedom For All Ireland in bringing closure to the unjust conviction of John Paul Wooten and Brendan McConville in the 2009 murder of PSNI Constable Steven Carroll in Craigavon, Co. Despite the fact that the state legal team, charged with handling this … [Read more...] about JUSTICE FOR THE CRAIGAVON 2
Merry Christmas to you all!
My Brothers in Christ, Merry Christmas to you all! I want you to know that during this most Blessed of Seasons, you and your loved ones will be in my prayers as I remember you in my Masses. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising … [Read more...] about Merry Christmas to you all!

Immigration Pin Presentations
It looks like the count for just 30 days last month will be over 100 current members out of 535 Members of Congress!!! That is no small feat! It's great that champions of our cause like Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin and Bruce Morrison, were all at the beginning of the month and the month ended with Nancy Pelosi getting pinned. That's not counting other legislators, and people like Ambassador Anderson and CG Noel Kilkenny who wore theirs for the entire month! … [Read more...] about Immigration Pin Presentations

Anti-Def: Bed Bath and Beyond (a win in defense of our heritage!)
The AOH’s actions in protest to the denigrating merchandise being sold by Bed, Bath & Beyond’s Christmas Tree Shops division were subsequently reported in Irish Central and the Irish Voice; bringing our commitment to defend our heritage to the attention of the broader Irish and Irish American community. This evening we received a message from Bed, Bath and Beyond stating they are removing the offensive items from their shelves and will sensitize their buyers as regard items which are defaming and promote negative stereotypes against Irish Americans. Brothers, this is a step in the … [Read more...] about Anti-Def: Bed Bath and Beyond (a win in defense of our heritage!)
Anti-Def: Bed Bath and Beyond
The first signs of spring and the forthcoming St. Patrick’s Day season have been spotted; the sale of merchandise defaming our proud heritage as Irish Americans has begun. Several items denigrating Irish Americans and the feast of our Patron Saint were recently seen at a Christmas Tree Shop, which is a subdivision of major retailer Bed, Bath & Beyond. Among them were a four leaf clover festooned beer glass with the phrase “I’ll be Irish in a few Beers”, a set of green suspenders with two shot glasses attached and the phrase “Irish for the Day” and the most egregious of all a “St. … [Read more...] about Anti-Def: Bed Bath and Beyond
