AOH Condemns Minneapolis Church Attack, Demands Action on Anti-Catholic Violence
[New York, NY 08/28/2025] – The Ancient Order of Hibernians condemns in the strongest possible terms the horrific act of hate that took the lives of two innocent children and left many others wounded during Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis. No American should ever face violence while practicing their faith. Our first thoughts and prayers are with the families who have suffered the unthinkable loss of their children, and with the parish community of Annunciation, whose sanctuary was violated and desecrated in the very act of worship. This must never … [Read more...] about AOH Condemns Minneapolis Church Attack, Demands Action on Anti-Catholic Violence

THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
Friday, August 15, 2025 Celebrated every year on August 15th, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is important to many Catholics and Orthodox Christians as the day that Mary was received into Heaven at the end of her earthly life. This is not a Holy Day of Obligation this year; please stop into a Church to pray during the day to honor our Blessed Mother on this special day. Can you imagine what a moment the Assumption must have been for Mary! In describing the scene, some Church Fathers spoke of Jesus Himself coming back to Earth to take His mother and bring … [Read more...] about THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

FEAST OF THE ASCENSION OF OUR LORD: THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2025
The Ascension of Our Lord, which occurred 40 days after Jesus Christ rose from the dead on Easter, is the final act of our redemption that began on Good Friday. The Feast takes place ten days before Pentecost; thus taking on a special anticipation of the gift of the Holy Spirit. It does not commemorate a departure. Oh, no! It celebrates a presence and a promise:I am with you always, even to the end of time. Jesus is with us at all times and in all places. This sentence is the core of our faith. During the 40 days before the Ascension, Jesus continues to fortify our faith. He appears … [Read more...] about FEAST OF THE ASCENSION OF OUR LORD: THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2025

State Conventions This year is a state convention year when states will organize meetings and events that bring members from throughout a state together to conduct business and elect officers. State conventions are important for many reasons. Business is conducted and state officers are elected for the new term. I hope everyone enjoyed the St. Patrick’s Day Season. I also hope everyone had a very Happy and Holy Easter. Thanks to all the Divisions who took advantage of the constitutional discount and paid their National Per Capita early. Your efforts make it easier to plan for the good work of the Order. If you do not already have one in place, the next thing you need to do is create a plan to contact those division members who are delinquent in paying their dues. It is important to remember that our Constitution in Article XVIII Section 13 sets forth the framework for handling this issue. The … [Read more...] about National Treasurer Report – May 2025
